BEN MARSHALL'S PICK 150M HDBASET CSC EXTENDER KIT WITH HDCP2.2 EDID AND ARC HEX150CSKIT | 07351300 Considering we’ve got Blustream coming in to run training sessions on the 28 th of February (www.radioparts.com.au/training to register your place), I thought I’d showcase one of my favourite choices for a smart integrator. The HEX150CSKIT is first-and-foremost an HDMI extender over CAT cabling; a proper HDBaseT ™ certified extender. There are dozens of these on the market, so what makes this one special is that it can also pull the Audio Return Channel (ARC) information back from the TV to the AV receiver in the rack up to 100 metres away. That’s any known HDMI audio format; including all the Dolby Digital, ATMOS and DTS formats. Add to that a built-in Ethernet extender, full support for bi-directional RS232 and infrared controls, and you only need a power supply at one end. And ALL of this through only a single run of CAT cabling! For an integrator, it’s a time- and money-saver. Over a longer distance, Blustream recommends shielded CAT6, particularly to keep the ARC signal nice and clean. One final note – this is also a 4K/18Gbps extender for distances up to 100m (150m for 1080p). If you don’t need the extra bells and whistles of this kit, but still want full 4K/18Gbps support, you might prefer the 07351288 HEX70CS-KIT or 07351298 HEX100CSKIT .
