PVRX2 FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  1. How to change the default recording duration?
  2. How to use the Timer Setting?
  3. How to change the clock settings?

Q1. How to change the recording duration?

A: The default recording duration is set to 2 hours. So when you hit the instant one-touch record button on your remote and start a recording, that recording will end in 2 hours. This is to prevent from accidentally filling up your hard drive.

To change the duration, after you press REC on your remote and the recording process starts, press the REC key again to access the "Recording Information" screen.

At the bottom of the options you will see Duration. Highlight it and use the left or right keys on your remote to decrease, or increase the duration.

Q2. How to use the Timer Setting?

A: The timer setting function allows you to have your PVRX2 automatically turn on and off at specified times. To access the Timer settings,

  • press the Menu key on your remote and choose the User Setup menu option. Confirm that the Timer Setting sub-menu is highlighted and press OK.
  • With the Timer No bar highlighted, use the left or right keys on your remote to choose a slot from 1 to 8.
  • Timer Mode allows you to choose whether you'd like your unit to turn on and off, Once, Daily, or Weekly.
  • Sleep time: Choose when your PVRX2 should switch itself off.
  • Wake Up Time: Set up the time for your PVRX2 to start up.
  • CAUTION: To confirm your settings, you must move on to another Timer No slot after you have made your changes. If you just press EXIT or MENU to close, you may lose all the timer settings that you have just made. So once you have set up a timer setting, just go back up to the Timer No option and choose another slot (eg. 2#) using the left or right keys on your remote.

Q3. How to change the clock settings?

A: To change the clock, day light savings, and timezone settings, press the Menu key on your remote. Locate User Settings and choose the Timer Settings sub-menu.

  • Make sure Timer No is set to CLOSE. Use the left or right keys on your remote to adjust.
  • Once you have followed the above step you will notice that the Current Time, Daylight Time, and Time Zone options are no longer greyed out.
